We meet sporadically at local libraries around Seattle as a time for quiet, concentrated writing, as well as a place to meet beta readers, critique partners, and other aspiring writers.

Kate Cherven
"I joined the Seattle Writers Collective to reignite my writing and connect with other writers. Thanks to Sam’s facilitation and the collective’s support, I’ve been able to grow as a writer and start writing poetry once more."
Kate is a playwright, poetry and fiction writer, most recently developed during her time with the Seattle Writers Collective. Her approach is heavily influenced by her passion for anthropology. She enjoys exploring how subcultures evolve and how personal stories reflect larger societal shifts. Her goal is to share human experiences that connect deeply with others.

Elena Coe
“Knowing there is a Seattle Writing Collective event coming up helps me stay motivated and on track with my projects. It's amazing to have the opportunity to connect with other local writers, hear about their work, and share tips and ideas with one another.”
Elena is a fiction and poetry writer in the Seattle area currently working on a young adult fantasy novel. She also writes short stories, poetry, and the occasional song. She’s obsessed with stories and their ability to connect humans through shared understanding.

Filip Stefanovic
“Since I joined the Seattle Writers Collective earlier this year, I have had the chance to meet new people and learn what other writers are working on. It has also provided me with a structured time to write which has been invaluable in making progress on my current story. I particularly love the quiet writing hours where I have the opportunity to write, socialize, and get feedback all in one place!”
Filip is a graduate student in chemistry who loves literature and spends their free time writing poetry and short stories. With a proclivity for magical realism, they love reading authors like Bugakov and Murakami. Filip has a particular interest in stories that bring real life experiences and fantasy together, especially when they serve to examine emotional or philosophical questions. Currently, Filip is working on a short story involving love, death, and a peculiar journey through afterlife.
